What does the IELTS exam involve?

The IELTS exam stands for International English Language Testing System. It is designed to help you work, study or migrate to a country where English is spoken. It is taken by around 3 million people every year and is accepted by over 11,000 employers, universities and immigration services worldwide.

How is the IELTS exam divided up?

There are four sections with ten questions each. The questions are arranged so that the answers appear in the order they appear in the audio.

Parts 1 & 2

Both parts deal with situations that take place in a social context. In part 1 there is a conversation between two speakers, in part 2 there is a monologue.

Part 3 & 4

The last two parts are mainly set in education and training situations. In part 3 there is a conversation between two people who are having a discussion, for example. Part 4 consists of a monologue on an academic subject.

Is the IELTS exam difficult to pass?

The exam assesses your skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in less than 3 hours. It is not difficult in itself, according to the tutors at LinguaProf.

During my full-time employment, I was appointed as the Social Programme Coordinator for the school's activities. ● My responsibilities included teaching General English to students from ten years old to sixty, and from different levels (A1 to C1), as well as coming up with new afternoon activities to make the experience more enjoyable for my students, such as Day Trips, Book clubs, Culture Days and Workshops. ● Teaching Young Learners was very profitable for me as I discovered my creative side in teaching, and I have been developing this side progressively through the years. ● Additionally, I trained students for the ISE Trinity College Exam (ISE Foundation) during the month of January 2023
