In September of 2019 I took a job teaching English in China, unfortunately I had to return home when the current global pandemic started there. My roles and responsibilities included the following: - I taught several classes, ranging from 3 year olds to 15 year olds. Engaging with the kids to ensure they were keen to learn and were enjoying the classes. Working through a curriculum designed to teach them how to speak English in a natural way. The classes usually consisted of the same broad structure. Initially we would engage in a brief open conversation to get them using the language naturally, then we would go through the vocabulary laid out in the curriculum and thirdly we would practise phonics to ensure they are pronouncing words correctly.
