Bachelor of Arts
Sep 2020 - Jun 2023
My undergraduate degree in English and Geography laid a strong interdisciplinary foundation that continues to shape my teaching practice today. Through a wide range of modules—from literary analysis and creative writing to physical landscapes and human geography—I developed a deep appreciation for critical thinking, effective communication, and global awareness. Studying English sharpened my ability to interpret complex texts, construct persuasive arguments, and encourage thoughtful discussion—skills that I now foster in my students to help them become confident, articulate learners. Meanwhile, Geography taught me to think spatially and systemically, explore real-world issues from multiple perspectives, and appreciate the interconnectedness of people and environments—an approach I bring into the classroom to make learning relevant and reflective of the world around us. Together, these disciplines have shaped me into a reflective, empathetic, and intellectually curious educator, committed to helping students see connections between subjects and engage with learning in meaningful ways.

BA Language and Cultural Studies
Sep 2005 - May 2009
I hold a BA in Language and Cultural Studies where I studied English literature and Spanish language. Through this degree I developed strong skills in academic writing, critical analysis and cultural interpretation. I explored literature across a wide range of genres and time periods as well as film and media studies. This background has given me a deep understanding of how language and culture shape communication and expression. It continues to influence my teaching by helping me connect texts to broader social and historical contexts and by encouraging students to think critically and express themselves clearly in both writing and speech.
